Quatrain LXVIII

by Abu al-Ala al-Ma'arri 973–1057

Translated by Henry Baerlein (1909) · From The Diwan of Abu'l-Ala (1909)

Religion

Divides the sand, a very home of tears,
And where love whispered of a thousand years
The silken-footed caterpillars crawl.
