Love
Once I thought to die for love
From Lyrics from the Song-Books of the Elizabethan Age, ed. A. H. Bullen (London: Nimmo, 1891)
Love
Once I thought to die for love,
Till I found that women prove
Traitors in their smiling:
They say men unconstant be,
But they themselves Jove change, we see,
And all is but beguiling.
