The Household of Finn
Translated by George Sigerson (1907) · From Bards of the Gael and Gall (1907)
I've seen the House of Finn,
No housefolk they of humble fame,
Last night — a Vision thin —
The Hero's household came.
I've seen the House of Art
Where towered apart his brown, bright son,
Not one like worth could win —
I've seen the House of Finn.
None sees what I have seen,
Finn wield the wondrous sword of Luin,
What woe, that sight — unseen!
I've seen the House of Finn.
The tale could never cease
Of woes that rend my heart within,
Then let me Thou have peace —
I've seen the House of Finn!
