A Cure for the Kings evill
From Two Bookes of Epigrammes, and Epitaphs (1639), Book II
Social Commentaries
Greatest of Mortalls, that with sparkling Gold
Inspheare your browes, and potent Scepters hold,
When vain pompe swells you, let the Crowne that tore
Our deare Redeemers head, be sadly wore
In your remembrance, so those Thornes will pricke
Ambitious tumours, whilst in minde they sticke.
