David dancing, Michol mocking
From Two Bookes of Epigrammes, and Epitaphs (1639), Book II
Social Commentaries
When zealous David danc'd, as if he would
Shake all his sinnes off, Michol could not hold,
But at his holy mirth her mocks she throwes,
And nimbly as his feete, her loose tongue goes.
Yet here's the difference; his quick motions were
Of the right stampe, in hers rude wrongs appeare.
