Social Commentaries
Heaven hardly entred
From Two Bookes of Epigrammes, and Epitaphs (1639), Book II
Social Commentaries
Of new Ierusalem truths Scribe doth write,
That her twelve pearly gates stand opposite,
In Walls, whose Bases are twelve jemmes entire:
To shew, that men from all parts shall aspire
To his faire City, (equalled by none)
Yet hardly make their way by Pearle and Stone.
