Religion
A Hero
From Songs for All Seasons, and Other Poems (1901)
Religion
Every man’s a hero who dares
And forbears.
Every man’s a hero who will stand
Faithful to the interests at hand.
Where so e’er its starry folds we see
Ours shall be the banner of the free;
Gladly, boldly, battle for the right
Day follows night.
