Why Will Ye Die
From Songs for All Seasons, and Other Poems (1901)
Religion
Why will ye die?
Why will ye die?
With sin the world is rife,
But there is one who draweth nigh:
He brings eternal life.
Eternal life!
Eternal life!
How gentle is the voice,
That calls thee from the toil and strife:--
“My child, repent! Rejoice!”
Repent! Rejoice!
Repent! Rejoice!
Oh, bid Him enter in.
By making Jesus Christ our choice,
Love’s fair reward we win.
