Death & Dying
Dirge: To her couch of evening rest
From Poems, Posthumous and Collected (1851)
Death & DyingNature
To her couch of evening rest
'Neath the sun's divinest west,
Bear we, in the silent car,
This consumed incense star,
This dear maid whose life is shed,
And whose sweets are sweetly dead.
