Love

To My Mirtle

by William Blake 1757–1827

From The Rossetti Manuscript (c. 1793–1818)

Love

To a lovely mirtle bound,
Blossoms show'ring all around,
O how sick & weary I
Underneath my mirtle lie!

Why should I be bound to thee,
O my lovely mirtle tree?
