The Mind

There souls of men are bought & sold

by William Blake 1757–1827

From The Rossetti Manuscript (c. 1793–1818)

The Mind

There souls of men are bought & sold,
And milk fed infancy for gold;
And youth to slaughter houses led,
And beauty, for a bit of bread.
