The Mind

The sun arises in the East

by William Blake 1757–1827

From The Rossetti Manuscript (c. 1793–1818)

The Mind

The sun arises in the East,
Cloth'd in robes of blood & gold;
Swords & spears & wrath increast
All around his bosom roll'd,
Croun'd with warlike fires & raging desires.
