Death & Dying
Book VII, 721
Translated by W. R. Paton (1916–18) · From The Greek Anthology (Loeb, vol. II, 1917)
Death & Dying
We from Sparta eng: aged the Argives equal in number and in arms, Thyreae being the prize of the spear, and both abandoning without seeking for pretexts our hope of return home, we leave the birds to tell of our death.
This translation is printed as prose in its source edition.
