Love
Epigram 18. Of Galla
From A Chain of Golden Poems (1658)
Love
Galla hath still her maidenhead; And why?
She is unhandsome, and her price too high.
Yet she would fain be rid of it; but none
Will pay so dear, therefore 'tis still her own.
So (although her desires be thus unjust)
Her covetousness doth overpoise her lust.
