by Sir Aston Cokain 1608–1684

Buchanons oathes at Murries service were;
What he would say audacious George would swear.
Poets would lye I've heard, but never one
That would forswear himself but Buchanon;
Yet he a famous Poet was: what though?
Serpents may lurk in flowers of fairest show.
