Love

The poet's heart without his gift of song

by Mary E. Coleridge 1861–1907

From Poems (1908)

Love

The poet's heart without his gift of song.
The soldier's courage, and no sword to fight,
The prophet's hate of misery and wrong.
And yet no burning word to set it right!
