AFter each skilful touch, and ev'ry Grace,
The genuine form excells the painted Face.
What wondrous Artist e're could draw so well,
As charming Nature, where she strives t' excell?
Heaven's work, before the Painter's we prefer,
Since it design'd its Master-piece in her.
God, whose resemblance in each Face we view,
Ne'er his own Picture more exactly drew.
