Love

One Branch

by Michael Field 1846–1914 (Bradley) and 1862–1913 (Cooper)

From Underneath the Bough (1898)

Love

A branch of wild-rose buds
In sunny studs
Of orange-red, flecked by the warm, diffused,
Violet flowers,
Breathing a breath transfused
As if with showers
Of the first dew that fell
When all things done were well.
