Love
Apollo and the Muses taught thee not
From Underneath the Bough (1898)
Love
Apollo and the Muses taught thee not
Thy mighty strain, enchantment to the mind,
Thralling the heart by spell of holy fears;
Awful thou sought'st Erinys' sacred grot;
And the Eternal Goddess, well inclined,
Hath given thee songs, for the dull life of tears.
