Nature

A Moonrise

by Charlotte Perkins Gilman 1860–1935

From In This Our World (1893; 5th ed. 1914)

Nature

The heavy mountains, lying huge and dim,
With uncouth outline breaking heaven’s brim;
And while I watched and waited, o’er them soon,
Cloudy, enormous, spectral, rose the moon.
