Love
A Greek Epigram to Hemiera. To Madam A— R—
From Poems and Translations (1689)
Love
WHen Pallas arm'd, met Venus in the Field,
Will you, said she, the Prize of Beauty yield?
Venus reply'd, If naked with my Charms
I can prevail, what need have I of Arms?
