Love

Elegiack Song

by Robert Heath fl. 1636–1659

From Clarastella (1650), Poems, &c.

Love

Lend me ye flouds your tears! oh more!
Lend me al Neptun's watry store
When he drownd all mankind! that I
May in this deluge drown and die!
She's dead to me: unhappy fate,
That love, which burnt so clear of late,
Is now extinct: oh help! and I
Wil weep hers and mine obsequie.
