On Marcus

by Robert Heath fl. 1636–1659

From Clarastella (1650), Epigrams, Lib. 1

Social Commentaries

Homers Stentorian that had the voice
Of fifty men, made not so great a noise
As Marcus, when he pleads; no Judge can sleep
Or Officer, he doth such bawling keep.
Who but loud Marcus the Court practice hath?
His clients cause he carries with a breath.
