Living

To his Friend, Master J. Jincks.

by Robert Herrick 1591–1674

From Hesperides (1648)

Living

LOve, love me now, because I place
Thee here among myrighteous race:
The bastard Slips may droop and die
Wanting both Root, and Earth; but thy
Immortall selfe, shall boldly trust
To live for ever, with my Just.
