Nature

Impromptu on an Order to Rill the Dogs in Albany

by St. John Honeywood 1763–1798

From The Poets and Poetry of America (1855)

Nature

The town is mad, and all the dogs must bleed!
Ah me! what boots it that the dogs are slain,
Since the whole race of puppies yet remain!
