Book XV, 30: On the Monk Paul
Translated by W. R. Paton (1916–18) · From The Greek Anthology (Loeb, vol. V, 1918)
Religion
This tomb hides beneath it the body, not the virtue, of renowned Paul; for his admirable discourses are dazzling as the light of the sun, and the labours of his virtue have great glory. For twenty years and three he endured on earth, and having lived conformably to the Word, met with a good end.
