Love
February 4th, 1785
From Poems by Mr. Jerningham, a new edition (London: J. Robson, 1796), ECCO-TCP K107811
Love
Ye radiant Fair! ye HEBES of the day,
Who heedless laugh your little hour away!
Let Caution be your guide, when next ye sport
Within the precincts of the splendid court:
Th' event of yesterday for prudence calls,
'Tis dangerous treading when MINERVA falls.
