Pride.
From Divinity and Morality in Robes of Poetry ([1660?])
Social Commentaries
AN humble spirit better is allow'd
Than to divide a rich spoile with the proud.
When Man begins to make Pride his Partaker,
He doth depart from God, turne from his Maker.
When fierce destruction followes to Hell-gate,
Pride doth most commonly preambulate.
