Love

Time Past I Thought It Worth My While

by Walter Savage Landor 1775–1864

From Works and Life, ed. Forster, vol. VIII (1876)

Love

Time past I thought it worth my while
To hunt all day to catch a smile:
Now ladies do not smile, but laugh,
I like it not so much bv half;
And yet perhaps it might bo shown
A laugh is but a smile full-blown.
