Living

It Often Happens a Bad Pun

by Walter Savage Landor 1775–1864

From Works and Life, ed. Forster, vol. VIII (1876)

Goes farther than a better one.

Less startling than the fairest hit:

Poor Goldsmith proved on Turnham - green .
