Living

To See the Cities and to Know the Men

by Walter Savage Landor 1775–1864

From Works and Life, ed. Forster, vol. VIII (1876)

Living

To see the cities and to know the men
Of many lands, in youth was Homer's lot;
In age to visit his far home again
The Gods, who never feel it, granted not.
