Love

Leave-Taking

by Gerald Massey 1828–1907

From My Lyrical Life, First Series (1889)

Love

When the wings are Feathered,
The birds forsake their nesi;
So the Bride will leave her Home
Leaning to her Lover's breast.
The tear was in her e;

But the soul was smiling through,
I' mful of sunshine
As a drop of summer dew.
