Quatrain 156

by Omar Khayyam 1048–1131

Translated by E. H. Whinfield (1883) · From The Quatrains (Whinfield)

Religion

Think they in wisdom all mankind surpass;
And glibly do they damn as infidel,
Whoever is not, like themselves, an ass.
