Quatrain 225

by Omar Khayyam 1048–1131

Translated by E. H. Whinfield (1883) · From The Quatrains (Whinfield)

Religion

Each element assumes its primal state,
And all the silken furniture of life
Is then dismantled by the blows of fate.
