Quatrain 284

by Omar Khayyam 1048–1131

Translated by E. H. Whinfield (1883) · From The Quatrains (Whinfield)

Living

I said, «O Shaikh, have you no shame?» Said he,
«Allah hath boundless mercy in his store.»
