Nature
Virgil, Georgic IV, 511: Translated
From Miscellaneous Works (Waller, 1907)
Nature
SO Philomel beneath the Poplar shade
Mournful bewails her Brood whom the rough hind
Finding has taken Callow from the Nest
All night she weeps and sitting on the branch
Often repeats her Melancholy song
And fills the Country with her sad complaint.
