Book II, 63: On Prayer

by Francis Quarles 1592–1644

From Divine Fancies (1633), Book II

Religion

The Iudgement of the Ballance, not the Yeard:
He loves not Words, but Matter; 'Tis his pleasure
To buy his Wares by Weight, and not by Measure.
