Book II, 83: To MVNDANO
From Divine Fancies (1633), Book II
Religion
Woldst thou Mundano, prove too great, too strong
For peevish Fortunes angry brow to wrong?
Renounce her power: Banish Fortune hence,
And trust thee to the hands of Providence;
The poorest heart that ever did importune
Heav'ns ayd, is farre above the frownes of Fortune.
