Sions Sonets: Sonet 23
From Divine Poems (1633), Sions Sonets
Religion
WHen time shall ripen these her greene desires,
And holy Love shal breathe her heav'nly fires
Into her Virgin brest, her heart shall be
As true to love, as I am true to thee:
O, when thy boundlesse bountie shall conjoyne
Her equall-glorious Majesty, with mine,
My ioyes are perfect, then, in sacred bands
Wedlocke shall couple our espoused hands.
