Book I, 66: On Faith
From Divine Fancies (1633), Book I
Religion
Faith do's acknowledge Gifts, altho we have not;
It keepes unseene those Sins, Confession hid not;
It makes us to enjoy the Goods we have not;
It counts as done, those pious deeds, we did not;
It workes; endowes; it freely accepts; it hides:
What Grace is absent where true Faith abides?
