Book I, 99: On Buying of the Bible
From Divine Fancies (1633), Book I
Religion
Tis but a folly to rejoyce, or boast,
How smal a price, thy wel-bought Pen'worth cost:
Vntill thy death, thou shalt not fully know
Whether thy Purchase be good cheap, or no;
And at that day, beleev't, it will appeare,
If not extreamely cheape, extreamely deare.
