Nature

In Darkness

by Charles G. D. Roberts 1860–1943

From New York Nocturnes and Other Poems (1898)

Nature

O Infinite, in this darkness draw thou near.
Wisdom alone I asked of thee, but thou
Hast crushed me with the awful gift of fear.
