Love

Book V, 74

by Rufinus date uncertain, perhaps 2nd–4th century AD

Translated by W. R. Paton (1916–18) · From The Greek Anthology (Loeb, vol. I, 1916)

Love

I senp thee this garland, Rhodoclea, that with my own hands I wove out of beautiful flowers. There are lilies and roses and dewy anemones, and tender narcissus and purple-gleaming violets. Wear it and cease to be vain. Both thou and the garland flower and fade.
