The Mind
The Advantage of Foreknowledge
From Lyra Elegantiarum, ed. Frederick Locker (London: E. Moxon, 1867)
The Mind
If man might know
The ill he must undergo,
And shun it so.
Then it were good to know:
But if he undergo it,
Though he know it?
What boots him know it,
He must undei'go it.
