Time & Brevity
Autumnus
From The Complete Works of Joshua Sylvester, ed. A. B. Grosart (1880)
Time & Brevity
When the Leaves in Autumn wither,
With a tawny-tanned Face
Warpt and wrinkled-up together,
Th' Year's late Beauty to disgrace:
There thy Life's Glass maist thou finde-thee.
Green now, gray now, gone anon;
Leaving (Worldling) of thine Own,
Neither Fruit, nor Leaf behind-thee.
