by John Taylor 1580–1653

From The Nipping and Snipping of Abuses (1614)

Religion

Ammongst the pure reformed Amsterdamers,
(Those faithfull friday feasting capon crammers)
Onely in them (they say) true faith doth lurke:
But tis a lazy faith, twill doe no worke.
O should it worke, ther's many thousand feares,
T'would set the world together by the eares.
