Epigram 2: Roome, now approaches thy
From The Sculler (1612)
Religion
Roome, now approaches thy ,
Thy Anti-Christian Kingdome downe must tumble,
Like Nimrods proud cloud-pearcing Babilon,
Thy hell-hatchd pride, despight thy heart must humble.
In scorne of dambd equiuocation,
My lines like thunder through thy Regions rumble.
Downe in the dust must lye thy painted glory,
For now Irowe and write thy tragicke story.
