Social Commentaries

To Anna Queene of Great Britaine

by John Taylor 1580–1653

From The Nipping and Snipping of Abuses (1614)

Social Commentaries

These backward, and these forward lines I send
To your right Royall, high Maiesticke hand:
And like the guilty prisoner I attend
Your censure, wherein blisse or bale doth stand.
If I condemned be, I cannot grudge,
For neuer Poet had a iuster Iudge.
