Epigram II
Translated by C. S. Calverley (1869) · From Epigrams and Epitaphs
Nature

(He once piped sweetly on his herdsman's flute)
His reeds of many a stop, his barbèd spear,
And scrip, wherein he held his hoards of fruit.
