Death & Dying

Lines Dictated on His Death Bed

by Charles Wesley 1707–1788

From Hymns and Poems, Chiefly Relating to Events in the Personal History of the Rev. Charles Wesley · Osborn ed., vol. 8 (1870)

Death & Dying

In age and feebleness extreme.
Who shall a helpless worm redeem?
Jesus! my only hope Thou art.
Strength of my failing flesh and heart;
Oh! could I catch one smile from Thee
And drop into eternity!
